What it means to dream about a cage: confinement built by someone else, distinct from the more general scenario of being trapped.
Distinct from simply being trapped, which needs no specific object at all, a cage is a built structure — implying someone constructed it, and usually that someone else holds the key. A cage dream tends to concern who built it, and whether the dreamer or another creature is the one inside.
